Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th of 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her living through her vibrant and far-ranging imagination. Her songs were written before she could read or write. Once she had her first guitar at the age 8, she started to play on local radio stations from Knoxville, Tennessee. Her first album was recorded in the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. Her name was made on the local circuit while at high school, but wanted to perform on a larger stage. After graduating high school in 1964, she moved straight to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host in the late '60s, was looking for a singer for his program. Parton was signed to RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She took on the role in 1967. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974 after her own hits like Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene oversold her collaborations. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their partnership with Wagoner, wrote"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and made it to No. It was the first time that a song hit the top spot.
